According to legend, Hippocrates noted, "The natural healing force is within." This wisdom is a core tenet of my personal belief system in both my professional and personal life. In my work as a clinical social worker, I offer a variety of healing modalities with an eye toward connecting each person's to their own unique intuitive wisdom. There is a clear pathway to release this wisdom so often blocked or hidden by protective and/or defensive parts in ourselves. Once our protective parts relax, then the innate compassion, curiosity, and calm that lies within each of us is available and the inner resources of perspective, courage, and creativity facilitate healing. Ultimately, one's connection to this source serves as the basis for authentic leadership in the world. And, oh yes, often increased joy and a sense of well-being arise as well!

This is my path and what I learn, I share.

My psychotherapy and consultation practice is in Andover with specialties in: anxiety and depression, attachment disorders, eating disorders, cancer, behavioral medicine, and trauma. I am on the staff of the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden, in Harvard, MA, a holistic center for women with breast cancer, www.healinggarden.net.

I teach strategies to achieve the above goals to both clients and mental health professionals in NYC and in Boston. I staff a pilot research project at Partners Hospital/Brigham teaching these same strategies to rheumatoid arthritis patients.

I received my academic training at Cornell University and Simmons College. I received my Mind/Body training at Harvard and my meditation training at the Kripalu Center, Lenox, MA, and the Insight Meditation Center, Barre, MA.

I have held adjunct faculty positions at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, Tufts University School of Medicine and Smith College School for Social Work.

I offer seminars for mental health professionals and general audiences. My contact information is 978-475-3882, or frances.booth@gmail.com. My web site is at www.francesbooth.com.
