Freshman Friends Holiday Tea
Release Date:
February 8, 2010
On December 19, 2009, the GWTK “Freshmen Friend”s and the newly matriculated Esperanza girls took a few hours from their busy holiday schedules to celebrate the season at the LANAM Club in Andover. The Freshmen Friends Holiday Tea event was organized by Melissa Najjar, Debra’s daughter, who is in her first year at Austin Preparatory School in Reading. All of the Esperanza girls were thrilled to be reunited and to share their freshman experiences. Several of the GWTK daughters also joined to celebrate the holiday season.
Amid the festive holiday decorations at the Club, the girls and friends enjoyed an assortment of beautifully prepared finger sandwiches, cookies and tea. Melissa then explained the rules of a Yankee Swap. The ladies showed the girls the trials and tribulations of bumping for the coveted gift, which for the ladies seemed to be a beautiful blown glass paperweight. In good spirit, the girls joined in the swap where make-up and jewelry were the to-die-for gift of the season.
With smiles and hugs, the afternoon ended all too soon. The girls are looking forward to next year’s event and to the new class of Esperanza alumnae freshmen.
