Dear Great Women to Know,

My experience at Cathedral High School has been going great. I thought that being the new girl and not knowing anyone that I wouldn’t like it. I was wrong I have made so many friends and I’m having a great time. All my teachers are so nice and helpful. In my first quarter grades I got two A+, two A - , two B’s and one C+. One of the A+ was for Spanish and the other was for girls’ physical education. The A-‘s I got were for World History and Religion. The two B’s I got were for English and Algebra. Finally the C+ was for Earth Science. All this grade added up to a grade point average of 3.471. My goal for the second quarter was to bring up that C+ and to maintain the other grades I had. When I got my second quarter grades I was happy and disappointed. In second quarter grades were one a+, one A, two B+, two B’s and one C. The A+ was for physical education. The A was for Spanish. The two B+ were for World History and Earth Science. The two B’s were for English and Algebra. Finally the C was fro Religion. While I pulled up my C+ in Earth Science to a B+, I let me A- in Religion drop down to a C. Therefore my goal for third quarter is to keep all my good grades that I have and to bring up the C in Religion. While I put as much effort as I can to bring up my C in religion, I will make sure that I don’t lower any other grades. In physical education we are playing volleyball. In World History we are learning about Greece and the wars that took place there. In Earth Science we are learning about dating with radioactivity, half life, radiometric dating, dating with carbon-14, the geological time scale and phanerzoic eon. In English currently we are writing an essay on these stories we read. It is a compare and contrast essay. After we finish writing the essays we are going on to William Shakespeare. We might read Romeo and Juliet. In Spanish we are doing a project about our family tree. In Religion we are talking about what makes something a sin. In Algebra we are learning about functions, relations, shapes of linear functions, function rules, direct variation and inverse variation, patterns of numbers, inductive reasoning and arithmetic sequence.

Given the fact that I couldn’t sign up for basketball I decided to run for treasurer. I am glad to say that I am the treasurer for the class of 2013 this year. As you can see I am doing ok at Cathedral and I like it a lot. I would like to thank you again for choosing me to receive that award, you have no idea how much it means to me.

Sincerely,

Francheska
