Great Women to Know are “Great Friends” to the Esperanza Graduates

The Freshman Friends program is well underway. Each of the 16 graduates from the Esperanza Academy Class of 2009 has been paired with a member of Great Women to Know. The Friends initially met at a dinner party just before graduation last June. GWTK sponsored a Book Swap during the summer for the Friends and their family members. Friends have gotten together to go shopping, to the beach, out to dinner and to the movies.
The most recent opportunity for the Friends to get together was on September 11th when GWTK Susan Casey hosted a dinner and overnight for the Esperanza graduates. GWTK members were invited to join the girls for dinner. It was a spirited reunion for all.
It’s not too soon to begin thinking about becoming a Freshman Friend for the Esperanza Class of 2010. There are 20 girls in that class so that many GWTK Friends will be needed. Contact Susan Casey at susan@casey.net to find out more about the program.
