As editor-in-chief of Northshore Magazine I'm always on the lookout for "interesting people." As a community volunteer I enjoy advancing the causes that are close to my heart. By orchestrating the Great Women to Know profile series in the April issue, I hit the jackpot: 30,000 readers were introduced to several dynamic personalities and they learned more about our organization and Esperanza as well.

The five-page spread consists of portrait-style photos of GWTK with their "shadows." On February 1, the day before Ground Hog Day, some of us participated in a career day at the school, which we called Shadow Day. After addressing classrooms full of eager listeners in the morning, I brought two girls back to the magazine. They acted as "editors for a day" and were featured in my "editor's letter" in the same issue. I'm looking forward to delivering magazines to the school during chapel. It will be my second opportunity to be a career mentor and...I'll get another dosage of those smiling faces!
