GWTK Kick Off, Sep 22, 2008GWTK Kick Off, Sep 22, 2008

Release Date:
September 26, 2008

I was talking to a friend the other day who I had invited to come tonight. She patiently listened as I bubbled over with enthusiasm for my experience with GWTK. When I finally stopped to take a breath, she asked, thoughtfully, "I already belong to several networking organizations, and I volunteer for other service groups-So, what's different about GWTK?" And even though no one had asked that exact question before, I knew precisely the answer, and I want to share it with you now!

You already know that we promote fellowship, friendship and fun, through service to Esperanza and social networking events.

But we don't just talk the talk. We walk the walk.

GWTK provides us all with opportunities to use and make visible our skills, talents, and capabilities in the hugely worthwhile endeavor of supporting the girls at Esperanza.

What makes this truly unique, is that while we interact with each other and the girls, we get unique perspective and insight into each others personal and professional paths. And, as a result, we can support each other in tangible and meaningful ways-be it by supporting a new or growing business, helping with a career move, or offering an supportive shoulder to lean on. That is what makes us different!

This is such a special gift that we can give each other, and because of this, combined with our singular commitment to Esperanza, our theme this year is "Getting to know you-- through participation and involvement"

Our goal is to get each and every one of you to use your own gifts in support of the Esperanza girls and to also get involved in shaping one of the many events in 2008. To accomplish this, we have created a fabulous calendar, which results from member feedback and input. It is a balance between events that are in service to the Esperanza girls, and opportunities to learn, grow, and have fun with other women. There are opportunities for the "time starved" and for the hands on, for career focus and the home focus. There is something for everyone!

Health and Wellness, Home for the Holidays, or an event called, "Now What Do I Do", for those of us in transition. The Auction, GWTK Mondays, Shadow Day, and many, many more ways to get involved with the Girls at Esperanza.

Make sure you take a calendar tonight, and find something that you are passionate about, that you can get excited about, that will share your gifts!

So, again, welcome, and I look forward to meeting each of you individually!!

Thank you!
