"Future Great Woman to Know," declared the yellow t-shirts worn by the Esperanza Girls participating in the school's first annual Shadow Day. The custom-designed shirts were donated by Cheryl Juba, owner of B Sporty (http://www.bsporty.net), a promotional product and logo wear company, located in North Andover. To help get the girls excited about Shadow Day, Cheryl coordinated a contest with the Esperanza students to create an original design for the front of the t-shirts. The winning design was submitted by Adriana S., a 7th grader at the school. Her whimsical design graced dozens of shirts worn by the girls in school and out in offices and businesses around the North Shore as they made their workplace visits.
Cheryl Juba also had two students shadow her for the day at B Sporty. On their visit, they designed their own embroidery and got a first-hand look at how a successful woman business owner handles day-to-day business. Cheryl commented, "This is a great opportunity for these girls to be empowered and see how women in their community can be successful working as a network and as individuals."
Thanks to Cheryl for her generosity, and for going the extra mile to make the first Shadow extra special for the girls.
